Pre-construction prices for an off plan villa or apartment are usually low and the development usually take a minimum of a year to be completed. Taking into account inflation and land prices, the price of the development usually increases by the time the final completion payment is made.

If you decide to by an off plan property both the developer and estate agent should provide you with specific information regarding the development such as details of the location: site and floor plans; building specifications; information about materials to be used; communal facilities and prices.

There should also be a payment and construction schedule.

Once you have decided which property you want to purchase you are usually required to pay a reservation fee and sign a contract. However, it is advised not to hand over any money until a contract has been arranged and have a Turkish Solicitor check the document before signing.

Payment is usually in instalments on dates specified in the contract or linked to the building process.

Look for a developer who has completed similar projects before you commit.
