Resorts in Turkey

Alanya is a seaside resort located in the Turkish Province of Antalya. It is a two hour drive away from Antalya. With its historical past, the various natural and historical sights and the multicultural way of life have made Alanya an unforgettable experience. Many different kinds of water sports, the colourful bazaar and the happy night-life have made Alanya very popular with local and European tourists.

The climate in Alanya is a very moderate climate. The summers are long, hot and dry and sometimes you see a water spout during a storm cell. Because of the closeness of the mountains many mornings you will get a fog that rolls in and then turning into a rainbow as it dissipates. Also due to the elevation of the mountains snow can be seen on the top of the mountains, even in the middle of summer.

Akbuk is a fishing town which is nestled between a crystal clear and tranquil bay, majestic mountains and pine forests. The resort looks out over the clear crystal Aegean with two small islands making it a truly spectacular view. It is a fifteen minute drive from Altinkum and less than ninety minutes from Bodrum. Akbuk used to be known as a small fishing port, however, today Akbuk is rapidly growing into an elite tourist hotspot, with its holiday complexes, summer houses, villas, harbour and five start hotels. There are a wide range of shops and markets in Akbuk selling fresh food, tools and hardware. There are doctors, dentists, schools and a bus station with regular services going to neighbouring towns including Altinkum, Soke, Kusadasi as well as Bodrum.

Altinkum means "Golden Sands". The resort itself has several gloriously sandy beaches which gently shelve the warm Aegean Sea. Altinkum is located 70km from Bodrum airport and this up and coming resort has everything to offer holiday makers and residents whilst maintaining its definitive Turkish feel. There are three larger beaches in the resort, offering water sports and other activities. Along Altinkums main beach, the promenade slopes around lined with various bars, shops and restaurants. Although it is a sleepy and quiet resort during the day, Altinkum comes alive at night with its various bars and nightclubs.

Altinkum is approximately two hours from Bodrum, one and half hours from Kusadasi and two and half hours from Izmir, Turkey’s third largest city. Altinkum is being developed as a Tourism Centre and a new 400 yacht marina is being built along with plans for a golf course in the near future.

Bodrum: Built on a peninsula formed by the meeting of the eastern and western harbours,

Bodrum, with its narrow streets winding down to the sea, is famous for its castle, its world-renowned yachts, its shipyards and the dazzling white houses and tombs lining the shores of its two harbours.

The resort is 30 minutes away from the airport and is dominated by the magnificent St Peters Castle. Bodrum is considered by many to be the most cosmopolitan resort. It offers a high standard of shops, places to dine and entertainment. The marina is impressive during the day as it is at night with an array of quality restaurants lining the marina.

The Bodrum peninsula also includes sleepy villages such as Yalikavak, Bitez, Gumbet, Gumusluk and Gulluk, all of which are developing into resorts in their own right.

The Datca Peninsula is a long, narrow, mountainous finger of land that stretches west of Marmaris for about 100km, separating the Mediterranean and Aegean seas, offering simplicity, unspoilt natural beauty and a countless string of secluded bays to explore. As you drive along the narrow twisty road from Hisaronu towards.

Datca, you'll catch glimpses of turquoise sea through pine-clad ravines on both sides and nothing but a couple of tiny villages and dramatic scenery will be seen before arriving in Datca.

The Datca Peninsula is still unspoilt by mass tourism. A traditional gulet cruise around the many beautiful bays enables you to enjoy exploring in your own boat without any of the responsibilities of sailing. Combine a few days on board with a stay in one of the new local hotels with all modern amenities which still retain the traditional Turkish friendliness and hospitality. Visit the restaurants in Datca and sample the delicious cuisine prepared with fresh local produce.

Datca situated half way along the mountainous, pine forested peninsula is an idyllic resort. There is a lively harbour set in stunning scenery whose relaxed happy atmosphere will captivate you immediately. The entire region is a combination of traditional Turkish friendliness and hospitality, tranquillity, sophistication and good fun. You can choose to seek any or all of these qualities as the mood takes.
